Doormats may seem a bit of a non-event at your home, just somewhere to wipe your feet. I’m going to change the way you see them!
Your doormat is at the entry to your home. It’s the welcome you receive when you come home tired and late from work. If you choose a great doormat, it can tell your story, it will greet you after a long day at work, make you smile and welcome you home. And it will make your visitors smile too.

My very dear friend, Jane, loved Christmas. We had been friends for many years and every year she would buy a new Christmas decoration for outside her house and decorate with lights and make the house and yard look spectacular. One Christmas she bought a flamingo decoration for the yard, that lit up and looked amazing! Why? Because it made her smile.
Fast forward a few years, and Jane was diagnosed with a terminal illness (completely out of the blue). Jane always saw humour in life and quick to laugh. Jane was the same all through her illness. Jane also saw joy in each and every day. A few months later, Jane passed away. It was a very difficult time.
One day I was was at the hardware store and found this flamingo doormat. It reminded me of Jane and we had to have it. And now, whenever I come home and see my flamingo doormat, I think of Jane and smile. In fact, whenever I see flamingoes I smile. Yes, I still miss Jane, even after 3 years, being able to think of all the good times and the laughter we shared makes me really appreciate the time we had together.
