A great start to your day using colour

Posted on 14/08/202214/08/2022

I received a lovely tea set as a gift – cups and saucers, a small teapot and tea canister – all matching. So, I bought some loose leaf black to to fill the canister instead of teabags. When I first made the tea in the teapot, I felt calmer and enjoyed the experience, feeling happy and content. The teapot is a deep dusty pink – in the image below. Feeling even calmer when I poured the tea into the teacup, and I wondered why.

Thinking about my experiences, using treasured items, hearing certain music or smelling a particular fragrance can bring back memories, good and not so good. Many years ago I was in China with a friend. She is from China and we stayed with her family, it was an amazing experience. We travelled to Beijing and every morning with a congee breakfast, we had a pot of jasmine tea. Coming back home I bought jasmine tea and whenever I brewed a cup, I was taken back to my trip to China and all the happy experiences I had.

This has inspired me to start my morning with some positive energy to give me the best day. Yes, mornings can be frantic with school lunches and rushing off to work. To make the time to feel the calmness of making and drinking my cup of tea I prepare the night before, setting these out on the kitchen bench.

My mug is very special and the colours make me happy and loved. Pouring tea from the teapot gives me a calm feeling. Starting the day with positive energy gives me motivation and the same energy runs through my day making it smoother and bringing joy to my day.

How do you want to start your day?

Try taking choosing a favourite mug or cup in a colour that inspires you, and take a moment to see the colour, smell the fragrance of your tea or coffee, and feel the positive energy.

Wishing you the best day!
