Bringing the outdoors in

Posted on 24/03/202324/03/2023

Adding nature to your home décor

So many homes in Australia are designed to bring the outside in – huge glass bi-fold doors open to large wooden decks. Almost creating an extra living space with a barbeque and dining table.

Does your home décor have plants or the beautiful greens of nature?

Why is having nature inside important?

We often walk in nature to feel calmer, feel the breeze on our skin, and smell the frangrance of flowers. It’s relaxing and soothing. Green is a colour of regeneration, soothing, and brings thoughts of new beginnings.

I was doing some research to see how to add nature to home decorating and found these amazing wall stickers and wallpapers.

These are wall stickers. I haven’t used them, and can only talk about how amazing they look.

The stickers above are from Shein Perfect if you’re renting or don’t want anything permanent on the walls. How do you feel looking at the leaves as they flow down the wall? To me it feels like I’m sitting under a tree with the breeze softly blowing. A feeling of peace and tranquility. And the vertical garden is very low maintenance!

These ones are also from Shein. Flowers are my passion, and how great does the desk look with the flower garden in front. If you don’t have space for a real flower garden, think about wall stickers to create your own.

The kids stickers from The Printable Co. are adorable and will make your kids smile and let their imagination run free. Again it’s bringing the outside in with cute animals. Your kids can imagine being on a farm, or on an African safari, or adventures on a tropical island.

These stickers are from The Printable Co. The colourful birds flying give a feeling of freedom and expansiveness. The palm trees feel like being on holidays on a tropical island – warm weather, lying under the palm trees! Who couldn’t relax?

If you want something a little more permanent, these wallpapers are incredible from Photo Wall. Wallpaper is generally stuck on with a type of glue, and removal is by steaming. My memory of putting up wallpaper is tricky, however, a lot has changed, and it may be easier now. If you have a space, happy to commit to wallpaper, this one will really let you feel like you’re outdoors.

Whether it’s wall stickers, beautiful artificial plants, or real plants for those with a green thumb, try adding some nature to your home décor and add a soothing and calming quality to your home.

Happy decorating!
