Why have I started this blog?

Posted on 16/09/201421/10/2015

Hi everyone and welcome to my site. Why have I started this blog? tiny_chamomile_flowers_206823[1]

To inspire people to add colour to their lives and see the benefits.

Using colour has always been important to me and the effects it has on us. Colour can to create any atmosphere, from relaxing to vibrant, and a lot of the time people are unaware that colour helps create an atmosphere.

If you think about the use of colour for example McDonald’s restaurants. Bright red and bright yellow, happy, fun, warm colours perfect to inviting kids to eat! On the opposite side of the spectrum, perhaps you’ve been for a massage where the colours may be soft greens and browns – soothing, grounding and relaxing colours. The correct use of colour is important in conveying the correct message and can aid in healing.

My career has many aspects of working with colour. From designing wedding bouquets and cakes with my Mum (an amazing experience), creating themed celebrations, renovating houses with my Husband (another fantastic experience), becoming a colour consultant and colour therapist.

I have always been quite sensitive to colour. Choosing an outfit only to find I didn’t feel comfortable wearing that colour. Walking into an open house with the lounges a bright royal blue with bright yellow cushions and feeling the colours were yelling at me – this can be fantastic in the right combination (like a blue iris), yet it was too bright to create a relaxing atmosphere in the house, especially when selling.

For me, this year has been an amazing learning experience. We have had three close family members pass away and it’s given me the courage to start this blog (something that I’ve wanted to do for a long time). After listening to my four year old daughter say “I don’t want to die”, she’s now figured out Mum and Dad are older and will pass away first. Trying to explain the circle of life to a four year old can be challenging!! It made me cry, and appreciate even more that we have such a limited time on the planet. Every day should be cherished and we should the take time to do things we love.

Now is my opportunity to share my passion, knowledge and ideas about using colour. I believe colour can be used to create the best living environment, make us feel fantastic, improve our health, help us to relax and assist in healing.

I would love for you to join me on this journey into the world of colour.
