Colourful toy hammock

Posted on 01/06/201801/06/2018

Time to play with colours and textures – one my favourite past times!  My client wanted her daughter’s room to be tidier, keeping all the toys off the floor, creating new space and adding some calming colour to the room. I’ve seen versions of toy hammocks, now I had my chance.

I chose some panne velvet (the name used by Spotlight stores). It’s great because it’s a little stretchy, doesn’t crush, adds colour and texture – it comes in some amazing colours. I cut a piece the length I needed, gathered up each end and tied off with a loop using pink velvet ribbon. Attached to the wall using 2 removable hooks, check the weight they hold. And that’s it. A perfect toy hammock.

The toys love their new home, the my client’s daughter loves to put them back in their new home and the floor is clear.

Try one at your home, there are lots of fabric options depending on your theme.

Have fun.
